I slept here a night and now it's my mission in life to go back there. I'm not from the US. I'm from a place with 2000 years of history. I felt at home here in a way hard to describe.
There are many 5 star reviews, and they are perfectly justified from my experience, but I'd like to address some of the issues others have had, which I think may be due to certain expectations. Some people would actually be more comfortable in a post and beam monstrosity or someplace built of matchsticks and paper. THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU.
'WAAAH.. it smells funny'. Actually it smells like a church. You'd know that if you'd ever been in one that wasn't built last week. It smells like oak wood, incense and dried flowers. 'Waah the housekeeper missed something!' I took a close look at that. It's an old building with a high amount of architectural detail. Anyone can keep drywall and Luxury Vinyl Plank surgically clean, but this place takes skill. It was clean.
'WAAAH.. the bathrooms are tiny!' When this place was built a 'bath' was a yearly dip in the river. The Mississippi is right there if your shower isnt big enough. Or you can quit supersizing your lunch.
Talking of which.. the facilities are incorporated into the room in a way which suggests they have always been there. I don't know if a couple of closets were commandeered or if they were sensitively and newly built. It they are additions, I don't see the join.
The place is fascinating just for that. A feel for heritage the likes of which you don't see outside of a museum - yet this isn't a museum, it's a beautiful and functional space.
I explored 10% of it. Just the entrance courtyard garden is like something out of a dream. Not overdone, it's not the Chelsea Flower show. It's just beautiful, charming, shady and classy.
The area is not 'sketchy' BTW. It's glory days were 150 years back, but that's the authentic South for you and it what makes it interesting. It won't rise again until certain Issues are addressed. I parked my Tesla on the street and no-one even walked by it. I'm giving serious thought to renovating one of the properties nearby and moving in, but I have a business to run elsewhere. I am astonished this place isn't on Airbnb with the rooms going for $350-500 a night. I guess Americans prefer their heritage Disneyfied or maybe Macy and her partner like their lives just as they are.
Much has been said about the hosts. I only met Macy, who was the sweetest host I could remember. She offered me a glass of wine then left me a whole jug of it :). I wish I could have stayed for the toast she was making me for breakfast and I hope she got my message that I had to depart earlier than expected.
Keep it warm for me Macy! I'll be back ASAP.

Located a short distance from the historic downtown area, this charming and quiet bed and breakfast was such a treat to stay in for our one night in Vicksburg. The formal dining room was gorgeous and the breakfast was delicious. It was also great to talk to Macy who runs the Inn. She was very responsive to all questions on texts. It also would make a great place for a group retreat or a wedding. Just gorgeous. Gave four stars for location since if it is very hot out you need to drive to the downtown (less than a mile away).

Beautiful Home!!
"We had a wonderful time staying at the Corners Mansion in Vicksburg MS. Macy was very hospitable and shared her wealth of knowledge about her home. Joe made us delicious breakfasts that we ate in the lovely dining room with antiques and beautiful wallpaper. The Room ( Library Room) was very comfortable, with lots of books to look through. We enjoyed the other guests and visiting the museums and battlefield in Vicksburg. Very interesting place. We would definitely recommend the Corners Mansion as a great place to stay."

Great old home restored with love and care! Great breakfasts! Enjoyed breakfasts with people from other countries who were staying there. The home tour is fairly quick and the host provides a lot of history on the Battle of Vicksburg and other historical facts about Vicksburg.

Macy was an excellent host and provided a home tour and history of the family and property. Our family of 4 stayed for one night while passing through. Breakfast is shared among a common table at 9am sharp daily. Coffee is ready at 7:30am. We met interesting travelers and enjoyed visiting over breakfast. The room we stayed in only had a bathtub but it was lovely. There is Wi-Fi and TV in each room as well as coffee pots. The area around Corners is in the process of gentrification so some may feel unsafe traversing the neighborhoods, but we felt safe and comfortable at Corners, in downtown and at the many sites and museums around town. We look forward to coming back to see more of what Vicksburg has to offer.
I can't tell you if The Corners is the best B&B in Vicksburg because I haven't been to all the B&B's in this friendly little town. In fact I'll never be able to tell you that because I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
Macy and Joe made us feel welcome from the first hello to the last goodbye (with a hug). We stayed in the renovated servants quarters. From the Jacuzzi bath with candles to a bed that rivals the most fluffy of clouds our room was a sanctuary for a couple of road weary traveler's. We arrived on our motorcycle and Macy opened the courtyard to us to park in. Macy keeps a book on the history of this stately old mansion and boy is there a lot of history in Vicksburg to be explored.
Breakfast is a treat with delicious food and great conversation. The table was set beautifully and even the butter was shaped into cute little designs. We had a wonderful stay with wonderful hosts.
Thanks Macy and Joe We'll be back! More Date of stay: July 2022
Serenity Sunset
Rain dripping from the trees
Thunder in the distance, The sun surrendering To another lovely gloaming
A gentle breeze in the trees, All from my rocker, On my porch
At the Corners
Dear Joe and Macey,
Your hospitality has made each stay with you another event that we will always cherish. The charms of Vicksburg are exquisite: historical, charming, romantic, always friendly people, much to see, and amazing sunsets over the Mississippi River. We have been coming here for years, and we think of Vicksburg as our little secret get-away, but the word is getting out, with two or three riverboats docked downtown every weekend. Yet the town is never crowded, and always friendly. Your rooms and suites at the Corners Mansion are the ideal refuge for the weary traveler to relax and recharge in comfort and safety. The breakfast is always elegant and the first opportunity of the day to engage fellow travelers from the far reaches. Thanks again for making your home our home away from home. We love Vicksburg,
Mike and Lesly

My stay here was fantastic! I wanted to stay in Vicksburg because of the history, and I found this amazing little B&B. Macy is so sweet and accommodating! We stayed in one of the Galleries room with my 3 kids and 2 dogs. When we checked in, Macy gave us some wonderful info on the town and recommended so places to visit and restaurants to eat. Coffee was served in the parlor where we got the chance to meet some of the other guests, and my daughter was allowed to play the old beautiful piano. I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful the dinning room was, and how amazing our breakfast was! The food was so good! Once we all finished, we got a tour of the house and learned some history about the area. I will definitely be going back, and I highly recommend a stay here! - Marilyn
